  • Pregnancy affects a woman not only physically but emotionally as well. Many women will go through various emotions during pregnancy. No wonder they can be overly sensitive and overwhelmed with emotions. This is because of the hormonal changes during pregnancy. Also, it may be the woman’s first pregnancy and she still doesn’t know how to deal with her emotions effectively. But this does not mean that women on their second or third pregnancy will not experience pregnancy stress.

The pregnant woman’s emotion may depend on what trimester of pregnancy are they into. During the first trimester, it is normal for the pregnant women to stress out and suddenly feel happy or cry without any reason. Entering the second trimester, when nausea and vomiting subsides, the pregnant women will be more excited to welcome the baby and she shows enthusiasm on preparing for childbirth. During the third semester pregnancy, the expectant mother may feel anxious and fearful of the discomforts that she feels. One good example of pregnancy discomforts is insomnia, when a pregnant woman cannot sleep because of body changes, fear of labor pain and pregnancy nightmares.
